Per Potito Starace è la prima partecipazione all'ATP di Casablanca.
I due azzurri impegnati nel tabellone principale torneo ATP di Casablanca (terra, €450.000) saranno Potito Starace e Fabio Fognini.
Al primo turno, il giocatore campano affronterà lo spagnolo Oscar Hernandez. n.66 del ranking ATP, mentre l’avversario d’esordio per Fognini sarà Teimuraz Gabashvili, classe 1985 e 72mo giocatore del mondo.
La prima testa di serie è Igor Andreev, la seconda è il tedesco Schuettler. Assente il detentore del torneo, Gilles Simon, che, nella scorsa edizione, sconfisse il connazionale Julien Benneteau.
